Out Story

šŸ‘‹šŸ» Hi, my name is Sia. I’m an author and designer behind the Sorted.lab blog, and I’m grateful that you’ve dropped by.

We all have things we don’t completely understand and problems that we need to solve. And sometimes it takes just one small piece of advice to help us out. That’s why I started Sorted.lab: to build a space for simple advice that helps solve everyday problems, especially for people navigating remote work and freelance life.

Who’s behind this blog?

I’m a copywriter and a content manager in IT, and I’ve been working remotely since 2020. But before I ended up where I am now, I changed dozens of professions. I was a school teacher, an animator at a hotel (tough and exhausting job, I must say), and even a shop assistant.

So, as I noted earlier, I’m the one who creates content for you. But what about the website?

Meet Paulo — our awesome web developer and fellow remote worker. Before switching to tech, he spent eight years as an underwriter (yes, it’s insurance-related… don’t ask us to explain šŸ˜…). I admire his patience — that much time in one role? I’d lose my mind.

What you can expect to read here

I know what it’s like to be stuck in an office, spending hours commuting, smiling through meetings you didn’t ask for, and staying late because your boss suddenly wants to ā€œcatch upā€ right before the end of the day (true story).

I can’t express how happy I was to finally break free and live and work on my own terms. Because we all deserve to live our lives how we want. This blog was created to help you become a remote worker and/or start a freelancing career.

But this blog isn’t just about work. It’s also about growth. No progress is possible without self-improvement, so IĀ share tips to help you stay focused, and reach new milestones in your life.

And let’s not forget about physical health. Remote work is convenient in many ways, but since you don’t need to commute to work, you risk taking a sedentary lifestyle too seriously. That’s why, in this blog, you’ll find helpful advice on maintaining strength and flexibility in your body.

No ā€œlife coachingā€ — just learning as we go

I don’t pretend to know it all, and I definitely don’t share any magical life hacks. I’m still improving, and I invite you to join me on this self-transformation journey. Let’s get it sorted!
