šš» Hi, my name is Sia. Iām an author and designer behind the Sorted.lab blog, and Iām grateful that youāve dropped by.
We all have things we donāt completely understand and problems that we need to solve. And sometimes it takes just one small piece of advice to help us out. Thatās why I started Sorted.lab: to build a space for simple advice that helps solve everyday problems, especially for people navigating remote work and freelance life.
Whoās behind this blog?
Iām a copywriter and a content manager in IT, and Iāve been working remotely since 2020. But before I ended up where I am now, I changed dozens of professions. I was a school teacher, an animator at a hotel (tough and exhausting job, I must say), and even a shop assistant.
So, as I noted earlier, Iām the one who creates content for you. But what about the website?
Meet Paulo ā our awesome web developer and fellow remote worker. Before switching to tech, he spent eight years as an underwriter (yes, itās insurance-related⦠donāt ask us to explain š ). I admire his patience ā that much time in one role? Iād lose my mind.
What you can expect to read here
I know what itās like to be stuck in an office, spending hours commuting, smiling through meetings you didnāt ask for, and staying late because your boss suddenly wants to ācatch upā right before the end of the day (true story).
I canāt express how happy I was to finally break free and live and work on my own terms. Because we all deserve to live our lives how we want. This blog was created to help you become a remote worker and/or start a freelancing career.
But this blog isnāt just about work. Itās also about growth. No progress is possible without self-improvement, so IĀ share tips to help you stay focused, and reach new milestones in your life.
And letās not forget about physical health. Remote work is convenient in many ways, but since you donāt need to commute to work, you risk taking a sedentary lifestyle too seriously. Thatās why, in this blog, youāll find helpful advice on maintaining strength and flexibility in your body.
No ālife coachingā ā just learning as we go
I donāt pretend to know it all, and I definitely donāt share any magical life hacks. Iām still improving, and I invite you to join me on this self-transformation journey. Letās get it sorted!
